But, thanks to advances in animal nutrition and health care, there are now an alternatives.

When is my dog a senior ?

A dog 7 years of old or older qualifies as a senior. (Except giant breeds, which are considered senior at age 5.) And, since dogs age approximately 7 years for every 1 year of human life, significant changes in health can occur in as little as 3 to 6 months. 98% of veterinarians believe that older pets should be have a physical exam twice a year due to this accelerated aging process.
